I wouldn't say my *whoole* identify is on being smart, but "not knowing" is definitely something I notice resistance to.
I think a combination of being a software developer and being exposed to the wide variety of extravagant things philosophers have said have cured of the tendency of believing I have an unassailable view. Software development really beats it into you that it's impossible to produce some flawless edifice of logic, so I'm happy to admit my views are speculative, but then again, so are all views.
